After Bill left the McDonald's parking lot he traveled on to Mansfield. His ride was fine tell he got into the town, where he found slick pavement and concrete. Bill was exhausted by the time he met up with us at the campground on the other side of Mansfield.
We slept on near the road in Diggins and in the morning Bill headed down the road to Mansfield. Bill was upbeat and in a good mood when he started, and was still fresh when he met Brenda and I at the McDonald's down the road.
On our way out of Springfield Brenda ended up stopping at the Quarter Store. Here everything is a quarter.
While Bill and Brenda where busy i spent some time with Jerry in his barn and talked about horses. Jerry breeds horses and enjoys working with them.
While in Springfield we stayed at Jerry's place. Jerry heard about us and called Brenda on our cell phone. Bill also agreed to test out one of Timberline Saddle company's flex-panel saddles.
The mayor of a little town called Baxter Springs stopped by while we where camping at a park in his town.
Brenda shows her method of making corn bread while out on the road. These little guys go good with chili, stew or just about anything.
