No internet contact... Even though we have wireless! The team has been traveling east from Bend on their way to Burns along Highway 20. They will be out of range for most phone contact and all internet contact. I will be answering e-mails and assisting with the blog. They wish to thank all the good people who have assisted in their journey.
We broke camp Monday and Bill rode into Sisters. There we met Jim Cornelious with The Nugget Newspaper. Sussie out of Tumalo also came to met us. After the meeting, he left Sisters on Highway 20. Bill made it to Tumalo at about 4pm. Sussie and her husband Jorgen offered to let us park our vehicles at their place, so we took them up on the offer.
I was recently told that we have made modern-day history taking the historical Santiam Wagon Road Trail. We started out in Lebanon Oregon, the historical start of the trail, and made our way to the Cascade Mountains. Blackie and I then preceded though the Willamette National Forest. The route took us through busy highways and backcountry trails.
We've been out of cellular range for the last 3 days, so I haven't been able to access the internet. Bill and Blackie have been making their way though the Cascade Mountains. Its been cool and wet; Bill, "Sleet, down pours, and drizzle." I'll post some pictures and write some more tomorrow. -Also the time is showing wrong for the post its actually the 7th at 9:30pm as I write this.
